HIM, HER & THE RAILWAY STATION
I am Dankuni Railway Station. Situated at the heart of a town named Dankuni, at the south right corner of two prominent zones of the Hooghly district of West Bengal. Chanditala block and the Chandannagar Commissionerate, hence getting the named "Dan" (meaning right in Bengali) and "Kuni" (meaning corner in Bengali). Previously, I was just known to be the sole junction station for the trains plying from Bardhhaman to Howrah or Sealdah. But after 2010, I got an additional identity as the eastern end of the East West dedicated railway freight corridor ranging from Dankuni in the east to Ludhiana, Punjab in the west. With the establishment of the freight corridor, the speed of railway traffic has considerably increased. As a result, the warehouses are always occupied with freight trains.
