HIM, HER & THE RAILWAY STATION
I am Dankuni Railway Station. Situated at the heart of a town named Dankuni, at the south right corner of two prominent zones of the Hooghly district of West Bengal. Chanditala block and the Chandannagar Commissionerate, hence getting the named "Dan" (meaning right in Bengali) and "Kuni" (meaning corner in Bengali). Previously, I was just known to be the sole junction station for the trains plying from Bardhhaman to Howrah or Sealdah. But after 2010, I got an additional identity as the eastern end of the East West dedicated railway freight corridor ranging from Dankuni in the east to Ludhiana, Punjab in the west. With the establishment of the freight corridor, the speed of railway traffic has considerably increased. As a result, the warehouses are always occupied with freight trains. Well, we will have a story on that someday. But lets jump into our today's story.
In 2013, a boy with his parents deboarded from 32219 UP Sealdah Dankuni Local at around 7:30 AM. Rittik. A youngster who was happy that he has come to live nearest to his maternal grandparent's house and here he will be staying throughout. No more worries of transfer. No more missing them. Rittik's father was a government employee. He was posted in Siliguri. But for better schooling and preparations for competitive examinations his mother decided to make this shift. For a couple of years, Rittik lived with his mother as his dad was till posted in North Bengal, after which he shifted to Kolkata and hence came to live with them. Well, when Rittik has jumped in he was 12 years old. He got admitted to a school near Uttarpara, a town on the banks of the Hooghly river. He used to commute to his school daily as it was just a 20 minutes drive. There were a pool car service from school to home and Rittik used it. Rittik was a brilliant student. But what was hidden was, he was also a passionate lover. Rittik was brought up by strict parents and he had never got into these before. But, with age some weird feelings were creeping in him. Somewhere he began to feel that he needs someone who will give him more attention that others. And so, he got one. Asmita. Three years junior to Rittik yet their vibes happened to match so well. Rittik was the class topper and Asmita too. But their friendship was not that easy at first. You see, Rittik was one of a kind. Bohemian, out of the box, rebel and creative. He used to be the talk of the town. I mean, not the literal town but at least amongst his friends and teachers.
Rittik was awesome at acting. He had great knack for plays and used to be ahead of others in getting a role. He was not just an actor but also a keen observer. He could direct. He was awesome with props designing as well and used to make kind off cool mobile phone models with paper. Asmita was a bit studious. But unlike a nerd, she was actually an explorer. Asmita loved to collect knowledge from the world. Kind of like Rittik. And she was also good with acting. Asmita, although younger than Rittik was much mature than him in terms of emotions. She took things slow and didn't get swayed easily. Rittik was a fast mover. He loved to achieve and build. And the way they fell in love was weirdest. Asmita and Rittik used to travel to school by the same car pool. As said, Rittik was an attention catcher and so did he caught her attention too. But initially, Asmita though him to be a buffoon. His hyperactivity caused an impression that Rittik was a show-off guy whereas the fact was completely opposite. Rittik, although hyperactive, engaging and ease to mingle was actually quite lonely. He had no siblings and grew up all alone. His parents were both working and he got less time to even have a talk. Moreover, his repeated school changes owing to his dad's transferrable job didn't let him make friends for long. Asmita on the other hand was born and had grown up in Dankuni. She studied in the same school since childhood. She was familiar to the place and had many friends.
Well, this continued for a couple of years. Asmita used to think Rittik was a joker. But somewhere she too felt a connection with this guy. One day, Rittik was scolded very badly due to his poor marks in history. Well, nobody like history and I can feel Rittik. But schools and boards don't understand. All they want is convention. Rittik was very hurt from the scolding. Such hurt he was, that he stopped talking. For days. The garrulous tide was stopped by one cyclone. Asmita noticed this. She at first thought, at least the joker is quiet. But as the days passed, she approached him. Had it been otherwise, then Rittik would have jumped in joy that his crush has talked to him from her own. But today, Rittik was sad. Asmita looked at him for quiet long. She stepped in closer and held his face making Rittik look at her. As he looked, Asmita saw Rittik's eyes had tears. Although he was a tough guy, a funny guy but something had caused his eyes to tear. Asmita was taken aback. She, didn't think another instance and wiped his tears and smiled at him. "What happened, Rittik? Why are you weeping?" Rittik quickly withdrew his face and smiled back. He said, "N-No... its nothing. I just... just... nothing. I am fine". Asmita frowned at him. "Don't lie. I know you are very upset. The guy who doesn't even care when he gets detained from mischief has tears. I know you are hiding something. Now, tell me what is it", she said. Rittik felt shy but later told her. Asmita listened. She smiled back to him and said, "Don't be so upset. What parents do are for good. See, you must have neglected your studies. This made them angry." Rittik nodded in approval. And then what happened, neither Rittik nor I could have believed. Asmita hugged him. Not a short hug, but a long long one. Rittik had goosebumps. He could barely speak and kept looking at Asmita for long. The next day, the world around these two changed. A girl of class 6 and a boy of class 9 had felt the touch of divine passion in their mutual fulfilment. They had fallen for each other.
They became the best friends. Rittik used to save his pocket money and buy her chocolates. Asmita used to buy him pens. You know, I am just a railway station. But honestly had I been a human being I would have melted for such cute and pure love. No bodily demands, no lust, no betrays. Just pure love. Well, to mention here both Rittik and Asmita remained toppers. The love didn't affect their studies, in fact they became even better. Asmita, who used to come second came first. Rittik, who used to be just ahead by 7-8 marks from the second, made a difference of 20-25 marks. The love indeed strengthened them. In love, we tend to imitate and learn. So, Rittik learned to be more calm and Asmita learnt to be more creative and explore beyond barriers. Rittik was a die heart Physics enthusiast and Asmita was a die heart Chemistry enthusiast. When they both appeared for a competitive exam named the Olympiads, both secured gold medals. But, as all good things have a tarnished base, so was this. Some students began to be jealous of them. The togetherness of Asmita and Rittik was causing wonders. They planned to break this. And amongst them were none but each of their best friends. Two of Rittik's best friends planned to heckle him. And two of Asmita's best friends planned to attack her.
It was class 10 for Rittik and class 7 for Asmita. The preboards were completed and Rittik had topped. But he felt sad. After a few days, he will take the boards exam and leave this school forever. Perhaps, he will lose Asmita forever. In those days, neither Rittik nor Asmita had mobile phones like today's kids. They had strict upbringings and were kept away from these. Same was thought by Asmita but she wished to hide it. She thought to enjoy the last few days with Rittik, until they meet again if life wanted. But that day, something bad happened. A group of boys from the class of Asmita, ganged with some senior boys and attacked Asmita. They surrounded her and began to tease. Asmita kept pleading but they were not ready to listen. One of them caught her hand and said, "Oh! I see you and Rittik are getting so close. I think the principal must know this. Also, what about your dad knowing this too?" Asmita was frightened. She pleaded but they were cruelly laughing at her. One of them demanded Asmita to kiss him or else he threatened to let her dad know everything. Asmita began to cry but no one dared to approach, until the news reached Rittik. Rittik was infuriated. For the first time the world and school saw what is called the wrath of Rittik. He stormed out of his class and rushed to the back of the school where all these was happening. He saw, 10 boys were surrounding and teasing Asmita. That was enough to be seen. Rittik rushed with his full speed and broke like a thunderbolt on the gang. He jumped and landed on the neck of a senior crashing him to ground. He then asked Asmita to leave and he began to roar.
That day, Rittik the garrulous didn't waste a single word. He just talked with punches, kicks and bangs. He ruthlessly beat all the ten of them alone like a lion. His shirt was torn, the side of his lip got injured and was bleeding but his eyes were glowing in unending anger. He injured nine of them and was fighting the tenth guy when the worthless security arrived. But that day, Rittik was unstoppable. He held the collar of the guy and flung him in the air and crashed him on the heap of bricks of an under-construction wall. When the securities tried to hold him he just jolted them down. Asmita who was in a shock all while saw the most unknown form of Rittik. The destroyer Rittik. She managed to come near to him and hugged him tightly to calm him down. "Rittik, leave it... please, listen to me..." Rittik just turned to her and asked, "Are you hurt?" At first Asmita didn't reply but when Rittik shouted, she showed him the scratch marks on her hand. Rittik took her to the infirmary. He then reported the entire thing to the principal before they could reach the office. The group of boys made up a story and revealed about the relationship that had grown between Rittik and Asmita. As a result the principal suspended Rittik for a week and Asmita's parents were called.
Next week was the last week of school for Rittik. The last chance to talk with Asmita. When he met with Asmita at school, she ignored him. Rittik understood all the thing but he decided to keep quiet and observe. The last of day of school came along. As, after the farewell Rittik was returning to his class along with his classmates, a pair of hands pulled him behind the staircase. It was Asmita. Before Rittik could utter a word, Asmita covered his mouth with her hands. She whispered about all the happenings after that day. Rittik listened with widened eyes. Finally she said, "I love you, Rittik". And before he could react, Asmita reached out for his lips and kissed him. That was perhaps the best moment for Rittik in his life. Rittik cherished it for so long. That day after the school, they met one last time and promised to stay in touch. But, time knew it wasn't go to be that easy. With heavy heart, Rittik and Asmita departed. The final touch... the final waving... the last smile.... all vanished.
An year later, Rittik's best friends betrayed him. They faked a post about Asmita with a derogatory remark and this was perhaps the last nail on the coffin of a fading relationship. At least, that is what I had believed or I would be believing for the rest of my life. But you know, life is a strange journey. As railway tracks have junctions, that take you to a lot of places, how the levers when pulled magically shifts trains from one track to another. Such was a case here. Rittik tried to reach out to Asmita to clarify the act of his friends and resolve all the misunderstanding. But, unfortunately, things took a wrong turn. Asmita deliberately blocked Rittik from everywhere. Well, this was under her parent's supervision and the incident that had happened. But, Rittik saw himself getting blocked and all his tries to reach her were in vain. This continued for not just one or two but 12 long years.
This however didn't make Rittik give up. He tried in several ways. As a creative soul, he even tried to send scrolls tied to pigeons (Which I don't know how he managed to) but the replies from the other end were still null. He kept no stone unturned but with no success. He used to visit me almost everyday for an evening walk and used to continuously stare at the direction of her house. Although the house was not visible from the station but he somewhere firmly believed that Asmita will someday reply. At times I felt sad for him but I could never know the other side of the story if Asmita would have never stepped onto me.
Well, Asmita got a job in some private firm in Kolkata. So she began to commute in the Dankuni Sealdah local. And the pretty thing is, our beloved Rittik and Asmita, both used to visit me, but since they were in different platforms and also not at the same time, neither came to know about each other. This continued for 5 long years until they met. But how they met and what happened after that? Well, have some patience. Before that let me tell you what was the story of Asmita.
Well, so Asmita got swayed at a point of time. She thought Rittik had wrong intentions. At least that was what she was forced to believe. Her teachers, her parents and friends all played the role in making her believe this. Gradually, she began to forget the good times. But then Rittik's constant efforts had put her in dilemma. Luckily, there was one silver lining in this dark cloud of doubts. Asmita's childhood friend, Anuradha. Anuradha knew both Rittik and Asmita since the very beginning. She was her classmate too but with changing times and friend circles they got away. After school, however they were in touch again. Although Anuradha never said anything about the relationship between Asmita and Rittik, but she knew it was not fake. Neither Rittik nor Asmita was wrong. They had different boundaries, different outlook towards life. Rittik was a bit outgoing and careless. But he was an exception for Asmita. Asmita was studious, friendly and calm but she was an exception for Rittik. When they were together, they behaved like osmosis. One mingled into other. So, she was an exception of Asmita's friend circle. She believed in their love.
Whenever the pigeons of Rittik used to fly to Asmita's house and Asmita would intercept them, she and Anuradha would often read it and giggled. Well, Asmita blushed. She was growing fond of Rittik day by day. But alas! Her strict father never allowed her to wander out. So, when she finally got the job Asmita felt a bit of a relief. But her job was making her busy every day. Rittik was working from home and he was at least free from the daily commute. But he used to visit the station for evening walks. I used to read his mind when he used to sit by the rock and think about her. He longed to tell her about his promotions, his achievements, the way he used to tell her while in school. Sometimes Rittik would look hopelessly in the direction of Asmita's house. Only to smile in his mind and turn back. Things were going fine but suddenly, from one day, the pigeons stopped carrying scrolls. Asmita was worried and she discussed about this with Anuradha. Anuradha said, "Might be the pigeons died". Although there was no proper answer to this but they both felt weird. Well, the reason was Rittik lost hope. His mind went blank of her. He could no further think. Had I been his human friend I could have told him, "Brother, just a little hard. She is almost yours". But alas! I am a station.
Now, at times I felt so bad for them. I wish I could have just spoken to them that "Hey, you both do visit me daily. Why don't you walk in the same platform? Why don't you face each other? Have a talk?" But only if I were a human. Although, I somewhere felt that one day they will get aligned. I also feared that maybe they are never. They might keep coexisting. Just like the parallel railway tracks. Close but never together. But luckily, the tables turned one day. Rittik had to go to his office in Kolkata for some work. While returning home, Asmita and Rittik boarded in the same compartment. Generally Asmita used to board the ladies compartment but that day, perhaps parallels were destined to meet. The timings, the routes and the trains were just the same. Asmita saw an empty seat and Rittik too. They both rushed towards but Asmita reached first. She sat and as she glanced up she saw Rittik and Rittik saw Asmita. For about some seconds they looked at each other, quiet and frozen. Suddenly, Rittik got push at his back by a passenger breaking his state of trance and he gazed away. Well, it was not that Asmita and Rittik just met today after the school. They had met twice more but those were just after the social media incident. So Asmita was angry and she didn't look at him. But all the dirt had settled after years and she kept looking at him. When they last met, Rittik was just a school lad. Now he had full grown beard, thick moustache and long hair. He had grown a man. Rittik, however dared not look back. He was confirmed that it can cause a chaos which he tried to avoid. But I know his mind began to colour the canvas. Expectations! Human's only friend in loneliness and disappointment.
The 32241 UP Sealdah Dankuni Local slowly screeched to stop at platform number 2. It was dusk. There had been rain just a few hours ago. The clouds have dispersed the sunlight in a golden yellow glow. In rural Bengal, this light is called the "light of watching a bride". In old days, when there were matrimonial relations in villages and maybe in some towns as well, the groom's family would come at this time. The main reason is presumably because the males of the family would be home after farming by this time and the discussions could be worthy (as per the patriarchy long existing). Also, this golden yellow hue of sunlight made the bride look more fair in complexion, increasing chances of getting selected for marriage. Although, today very few believe or even knows these. However, this light is considered divine. And in this light, they saw each other... face to face after almost a decade. Rittik was looking at the ground but Asmita was looking at him, smiling. Rittik tried to walk away but at this moment, Asmita held his hand. Rittik looked at her, partly frightened. He said, "I know, you don't like me. I know many people had said many things about me and you will believe them. Have a good life. I am sorry to ever come." Asmita pulled him to a side said, "Who said I believed what people said?" Rittik was stunned. He looked at Asmita. His heart was racing inside but he couldn't say a word. Asmita stepped closer. She fixed her gaze onto the eyes of Rittik and said, "Why did you stop sending pigeons?" Rittik replied, in broken words, with a bit of fumbling, "I... I didn't want to disturb you any further. I.. I don't want to intervene. I.. I know, you don't want to see my face..." Asmita yelled, "Enough! You were a joker, I knew. But I never knew you were a fool. Since people said you cannot get to me you believed it? You didn't trust me right?" Rittik was standing dumb. Asmita took out a box and opened it.
The box was full of rolled papers. She continued, "Look. All these scrolls. Your pigeons use to drop them in my attic every week. I have read all your messages. I couldn't reply because I don't know how to use pigeons as messengers. You were into all these you might have known. And you had called me last when you left school. That too in my dad's number. Idiot. After that I found your phone switched off when I tried to call you from my phone. You tried to connect with me in Insta, I had my parents over there so I cannot accept your request. But that does not mean everything has come to an end." Rittik was listening to all these as an obedient boy. He could hardly speak. Well this is the issue with men you see. They will roar in public but will turn a mouse in front of the lady they love. Asmita clapped her hands just in front of Rittik's face and asked, "Hello sir! Aren't you going to say anything? You don't appear to be the same garrulous young fire that I knew." Now, Rittik finally spoke up. He smiled and said, "Rotation changes day, Revolution changes seasons and Crisis changes humans. For prolonged time I had lost you. I used to cry. Try each and every day to reach out to you. You never answered. I can take your excuses but those don't justify". Saying this he began to walk away. Asmita yelled, "Stop there!". Rittik stopped and turned back. By now the platform has become almost empty. Asmita stepped near Rittik. She held his collar and pulled him close. "Do you think this is all a joke? Do you think I was lying? Huh?" Rittik smiled and said, "I don't wish to believe that you are lying but I feel you are". Asmita had tears, "You just tagged me as a liar just because I didn't reach out to you? Dude, I am frustrated with my parents. I have no freedom. I used to lead a hard life. I know you will never ever know about this and its no point in telling. But, just I want to clarify that I am not a person who will lie to the person she loves." Rittik asked, "Well, I understand you don't know how to send pigeons, I understand your parents have strictly restricted any connection between you and me through your friends, I understand the mobile number issues, even I have changed my SIM card twice. But, there were some social media where you could have reached out to me." Asmita smirked, "How? Every two to three months you change your username. How can anyone trace or even know who you are? And on top of that you have created and closed several accounts." Rittik didn't say anything now. He knew it was true. He used to change his social media accounts for increased security. He also had limited connections. Everything looked justified to him. But he was somewhat not prepared to believe what was happening then. Asmita had really made attempts to reach him? Asmita continued, "I know times have changed. Maybe you are in a relationship with some other girl and want to forget me... but I cannot forget my first love and only love. You know God has sent us to be together...". Rittik was infuriated. "God? You people still trust in Gods? What was his role in life? I have got no benefit form it. Do you know how many challenges I had faced, I was bruised with wounds. I kept asking help. But none came. So, I don't need anyone now. I wish you a very happy life ahead. Get a boy who your parents select and stay with him for the rest happily." Saying this he began to walk when Asmita's voice almost made him turn pale. She said, "If you don't want me to live anymore, you can walk away. But I had just one love in my love. You. I know you are... offended and you are stubborn. I will walk away from you and your life. But I will end my life here..." Saying this she walked towards the rear of the platform. Rittik noticed an express train was rushing in at full pace. His instinct stop working. He took some time to process and then ran blindly after her. At this point of time Asmita and Rittik were about 10 meters away but Rittik almost flew to her screaming. Had it been any late, I would have never forgiven Rittik but luckily it didn't go that wrong. Rittik shouted, "Asmita..a..a.!!!!! Stop!!!" And he almost grabbed her in his arms and pulled back as the honking train passed by at full speed. They almost fell on the platform but Rittik grabbed a pole nearby. Asmita was looking into Rittik's eyes in tears. Rittik was looking into Asmita's eyes with a mix of fear-stricken, concerned and desperate look. His voice trembled, "Asmita!! Please don't leave me. I cannot afford to lose you. I... I... I have waited for 12 long years. I... can leave everything to get you... I don't care what and where you were in these time, I am ready to accept you the way you are... Please... don't leave me.... I can't survive with a wound reopened." Asmita was in tears. She hug Rittik tightly and cried her heart out drenching the shoulders of Rittik with her tears. Finally, when the dirt settled, they planned to sit and talk. Gradually an hour passed when Asmita got a call from her home. She stood up to leave. Rittik asked, "Can you share your number now?" Asmita laughed and took Rittik's phone and typed it. Rittik was surprised to see that Asmita could guess his lock too. Well, how could she not? It was their birthdays. That is how well Asmita knows Rittik. They walked with smile in their faces.
They talked till late that night. Things were taking a positive turn. Rittik was more energetic than ever. Asmita was able to handle her stress better. And gradually, a year passed. In the mean time, Rittik had turned 30 and Asmita had turned 27. Asmita's family was looking for her marriage and so was Rittik's family. But both of them knew their parents won't agree to marry them to each other. This time Asmita panicked but Rittik was calm. He was planning his ways. And finally, Rittik's plans worked. He managed to get an overseas job in Singapore and that was all that is needed. Without a delay, Rittik booked two tickets for him and her. In the mean time, Asmita's marriage was finalized. But just a week before her family could say anything, Asmita escaped. With Rittik. From my platform number 2. They too the last train to Dum Dum junction and then to Airport and then off to Singapore. Well, to prevent any sort of confusion Asmita said about the on-shore opportunity. His parents had to allow her. And Rittik has mastered the art of managing scenarios like this. Successful without a chaos they escaped from all drama and tantrums. Asmita delayed her marriage for years. At first she was also going to throw her SIM card but Rittik prevented. He said, "Never replace your parents for anyone in life how much may you love. Parent's are the first and the last love." Asmita agreed. They had lived and worked in Singapore for years, enjoyed life the most. But, there was a time when the truth was to be faced. The fact was, Asmita loved her parents but never ever told about her wishes. She silently kept following their orders. Rittik on the other hand was obedient but not blind follower. He once talked and had convinced his parents but it was Asmita's turn to do it. She talked with Rittik. "How am I supposed to do it Rittik? I love you and I love them and I care for both your wishes. But, its next to impossible to convey to them." Rittik told her a plan. Asmita partially agreed but had no better alternate at that moment.
On April they returned home. Asmita's parents were very happy to see her home. They started to tell her about marriage. Her father said, "Asmi, you are already of age daughter. Relieve your old father from his duties." Asmi's eyes teared. But she mustered all courage and confessed about her and Rittik. Her father was infuriated and hurt. He didn't listen. But this time, Asmita was adamant. She argued, "Dad, I have never asked you anything in life. I did all what you said. But please, let me live my life on my accord. I can guarantee you that you will find my decision worthy. At least have a talk with Rittik." There were family quarrels but this time Asmita held her ground strong. She stopped eating. Rittik was worried. He requested her to have something but our Asmita had become a rebel on a hunger strike. This continued for almost a day. Well, that day I came to know another aspect of a man's priority. It is really difficult for a man to woe his love but it is utter more difficult for a dad to give her daughter in right hands. Asmita although does a job and there are many laws in the favour of women but her father's fatherly instincts pushed him in a dilemma. On one side a question about her future and on the other side a question about his daughter. But at times, incidents happen so that clear dilemmas and throw light of truth. So was when the true colours of Asmita's childhood friends came to light. Asmita's father was returning home from market when he heard two of Asmita's childhood friends discussing about the social media derogation incident. One of them, a girl named Vidisha was laughing admitting that how she made a fake account of Rittik and spammed Asmita. Asmita's father eavesdropped and got to know everything that had happened 12 years ago. He recalled, once Anuradha too had said about the innocence of Rittik when he had a talk with her regarding this. Now, the cloud of haziness slowly began to disappear from his mind. He reached home and told everything to his daughter. He asked her to call Rittik. "I want to meet that young man and want to know him better. But I have a condition. If he doesn't suit the standards that I set for him, then you will have to do as I say!" Asmita agreed. Although she was frightened but she saw a small ray of hope. She obeyed her father like every time. However she told some tips and tricks to Rittik to impress her father. Rittik noted and came up in the same way.
That evening, a fair guy wearing a white kurta and jeans, carrying a box of sweets rang the door bell of Asmita's house. For the first time, Asmita's dad met Rittik. Asmita's mother, who had opened the doors requested him to come in and take seat. Asmita's father came down the staircase. Rittik rose to touch his feet but Asmita's father asked him to sit. Rittik introduced himself. But before he could speak a more word, Asmita's father asked him, "What is Einstein Rosen Bridge?" Well, if you ask something like this to your would be son-in-law or daughter's fiancé, he will freak out. But, Rittik was of the same league as was Asmita's father of. Physicists at heart. Rittik answered, "Its the Wormhole." Asmita's father asked Rittik a lot of questions, related to space and physics and he answered all of them with satisfaction. Asmita's father now asked a crucial question to Rittik. "What will you do if my daughter says no to you and gets married to someone else because I said?" Rittik was quiet for a moment. He replied, "If she does that with your consent, I will respect that. But if she does that without your consent I will ask her to take your consent." Asmita's father now understood that what her daughter had said about this young man were indeed true. Had there been any other boy, he would have forced her to end all relations with home when they had been to Singapore. But he did the reverse. This showed his integrity even in the moment when everything was in lieu with his plans. Asmita's father embraced Rittik. He said, "I am impressed with your honesty and integrity. I trust my daughter but now I feel proud of her. I would want to meet your parents for the final talk." Finally a smile appeared on Rittik's face. That day, was the best day. Everyone won. Rittik, Asmita and their parents. Asmita's father said, "I am doing a research in Quantum physics. I hope you will be the best person to contribute. I want your cooperation." Rittik was overwhelmed and his happiness knew no bounds. Rittik even pitched in his knowledge about Machine Learning and thus the two men of Physics grew a great bond.
Well, finally it settles and the wedding day arrives. Asmita, dressed as a princess awaits her Rittik. And that day, I was the happiest station to witness their happy procession pass over the flyover.
Today, another decade has passed. Rittik and Asmita are parents of two cute children. Rashmika and Anhik. The siblings reflect their parents. And genetics has played an amazing game. Anhik is the same garrulous as Rittik used to be and Rashmika resembles her mother. And today, on the auspicious occasion of Jamai Sasthi, all four of them visit the house of Asmita. But not before Anhik watches the express train pass by. Just like his dad. And I, the Dankuni station shed tears of joy being the silent witness of Him, Her and myself, the Railway Station.
On this day, another storyline begins as the Agnibina express passes Dankuni station bringing some memories from Durgapur. Want to know about that? Well, lets meet after a renovation break. I am having a crush on the metro station beside. Let me ask about her before I begin...
